Data protection regulations

  1. Basically, a ticket shop user can visit the site without depositing personal data. The usage of all ticket shop functionalities is only possible, however, following user registration. To this end, the user must enter his name, address, telephone number and e-mail address. CTS EVENTIM AG & Co. KGaA processes the user's personal data in observance with the data protection provisions applicable to the contract. The data will be recorded, processed and used in the scope required for the substantiation, design or modification of the contractual relationship. The CTS EVENTIM AG & Co. KGaA is allowed to make use of the phone number for the purpose of contacting by phone in case of problems concerning the payment handling (e.g. delay in payment, charge back, incorrect bank details). CTS EVENTIM AG & Co. KGaA is entitled to transfer these data to third parties commissioned with the implementation of the contract as far as this is required so that the concluded contracts can be fulfilled. Moreover, the CTS EVENTIM AG & Co. KGaA will not pass on data of the user to third parties unless the user has issued his express consent thereof. The user can withdraw his consent at any time without stating the reasons towards the CTS EVENTIM AG & Co. KGaA.

Shortly before the event for which the user has purchased a ticket, CTS EVENTIM AG & Co. KGaA will send the user further information, by eMail where relevant, about said event (e.g. how to get there, where to park). After the respective event, CTS EVENTIM AG & Co. KGaA will then ask the user, by eMail, for an evaluation of the event; participation in this survey is voluntary, of course. The items of information referred to in 1 above are processed for these services.

The information obtained in connection with ticket purchases is also used (1) to send the Ticket Online Newsletter to the user, (2) to inform the latter in the future about events that are the same as or similar to the one for which the user bought a ticket, and (3) in case of abortion of the respective order process, to remind existing customers and subscribers of the Ticket Online Newsletter by eMail of the non-completed order, provided that the user has not refused such information. Non-customers receive the Newsletter only if they have registered for it. If the user so wishes, CTS EVENTIM AG & Co. KGaA will send information by eMail as soon as there are new dates for favourite artists and events as chosen by the user. Note: the user can forbid the data being used for these purposes, for example by clicking the relevant box in his or her customer profile, in writing or by sending an eMail to newsletterabmeldung@ticketonline.de, without any costs other than the transmission costs under basic tariffs being incurred. As far as the user subscribed the Newsletter actively, the user has he possibility to unsubscribe the Newsletter the way described above with future effect at anytime.
  2. The user can retrieve and modify at any time the data which was saved for the purpose of using by CTS EVENTIM AG & Co. KGaA at any time via his user account. If the data of the user becomes permanently deleted, then a relevant notification will be sent to the CTS EVENTIM AG & Co. KGaA. Reference will be made that under certain circumstances, personal data can only be deleted following a certain period of time due to legal or contractual storage obligations. In this case, the affected data will be locked until the time of deletion.
  3. In order to make using the ticket shop as comfortable as possible for the user, in some areas so-called cookies are used. Cookies are small text files that are saved on the user's hard drive. Cookies are used for the so-called shopping cart function as well as for compiling statistics pertaining to the usage of the ticket shop in order to continually improve the offer for the user. CTS EVENTIM AG & Co. KGaA does not use technologies that link accumulating information with user data through cookies to determine the identity of the user. Principally speaking, the ticket shop can also be used without cookies, which may, however, lead to limited functionality of the ticket shop. Web browsers can be set to accept or reject cookies generally or in specific cases.

The CTS EVENTIM AG & Co. KGaA makes use of your IP address as far it is necessary for the technical provision of the website. Furthermore, the CTS EVENTIM AG & Co. KGaA files your IP address for security reasons over a period of seven business days at the maximum to safeguard the stability and reliability of the IT systems used and to prevent or track misuse.
  4. Links to the sites of other providers may be found within the ticket shop offer. As CTS EVENTIM AG & Co. KGaA has no influence over these websites, the user is recommended to obtain the information provided there, where applicable, pertaining to data protection. CTS EVENTIM AG & Co. KGaA assumes no liability for the content of linked contents.
  5. CTS EVENTIM AG & Co. KGaA uses various software solutions to optimise its online services. These solutions allow website usage to be analysed and valuable information about the needs of users to be gathered, so that the user-friendliness and quality of the online services can be continuously enhanced. In order to perform such analyses, aggregated and anonymous statistical data are captured. These data are anonymous connection and clickstream data relating to the browser being used, the number of visits/page impressions and the browsing behaviour of the respective visitor to a Ticketshop website. The shortened IP address of the visitor may also be viewed in the course of data gathering and processing.

The data are analysed for the following purposes, in particular:
     – counting the number of visitors
     – tracking those areas of the website that are particularly attractive for the respective visitor
     – analysing where visitors are from, in order to optimise the services provided
     – adapting recommendations to specific target groups

This process involves the use of permanent "cookies" (see clause 3 above). By adjusting their browser settings, users are able at any time to block cookies, or to stipulate that cookies may only be set when explicitly accepted by the user. At any time, users can also block the use of their data in general, for all the solutions deployed, by selecting the "opt-out option" presented by the respective solution. If the user opts out, it is possible that specific recommendations can no longer be made, however.

CTS EVENTIM AG & Co. KGaA deploys the following software solutions within the meaning of the above (by clicking the respective provider below, the user will be redirected to the opt out option):

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Pkwy, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA ("Google"). Google Analytics uses so-called "cookies", text files that are stored on the user's computer and which allow an analysis of the use of the website. The information on the use of the website generated by the cookie is generally transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data. In addition, CTS EVENTIM AG & Co. KGaA has extended the Google Analytics code with "anonymizeIP" on this website. This ensures the masking of the user's IP address so that all data is collected anonymously. Only in exceptional cases the full IP address will be transferred to a Google server in the USA and abbreviated there.

On behalf of CTS EVENTIM AG & Co. KGaA, Google will use this information to evaluate the use of the website in order to compile reports on the website activities and to provide other services related to the website usage and the Internet usage for the website operator. The user can prevent the storage of the cookies by means of a corresponding setting of his browser software; in this case not all functions of this website may be fully utilized.

The user can also prevent Google from collecting the data (including IP address) generated by the cookie and its use of the website (including IP address) as well as the processing of this data by Google by downloading the browser plug-in available under the following link And installed: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de. As an alternative to the browser add-on, especially browsers on mobile devices, the user can also prevent Google Analytics from being captured by clicking on this link. An opt-out cookie is then set which prevents the future collection of the user's data when visiting this website. The opt-out cookie is only valid in this browser and only for this website and is stored on the user's device. If the user clears the cookies in this browser, the opt-out cookie must be set again.

CTS EVENTIM AG & Co. KGaA also uses Google Analytics to evaluate data from double-click cookies and AdWords for statistical purposes. If the user does not want this, it can be disabled through the Ad Manager (https://www.google.de/settings/ads/).

CTS EVENTIM AG & Co. KGaA uses Google Analytics, including the capabilities of Universal Analytics. Universal Analytics allows us to analyze the activities on our sites across devices (for example, when using a laptop, and later by using a tablet). This is made possible by the pseudonym assignment of a user ID to a user. Such an assignment occurs, for example, when the user registers for a customer account or logs on to his customer account. However, no personal data will be forwarded to Google. Although adding additional features to Google Analytics with Universal Analytics, this does not mean that there is a limitation of data protection measures such as IP Masking or the browser add-on.
  6. In order to prevent any misunderstandings or malfunctions in payment transactions, CTS EVENTIM AG & Co. KGaA reserves the right, in the case of payment by SEPA direct debit, to analyse information on previous payment behaviour in ticket shops operated by CTS EVENTIM AG & Co. KGaA and to retrieve information on credit standing, calculated with mathematical and statistical methods, from SCHUFA Holding AG, Kormoranweg 5, D-65201 Wiesbaden. Attention is also drawn to the fact that probabilities relating to future behaviour of the user may be gathered or used in individual cases as part of our risk management, in order to aid decision-making on the formation, implementation or termination of contractual relationships, and that address data may also be used to calculate said probabilities.
  7. Service provider as defined by the Telemedia Services Act and responsible entity as defined by the Federal Data Protection Act is CTS EVENTIM AG & Co. KGaA, Contrescarpe 75 A, 28195 Bremen.
