Saltatio Mortis (Lat. Tanz des Todes) wurde im Jahr 2000 auf der Ronneburg in Hessen gegründet und gehört heute zu den prägenden Vertretern des deutschsprachigen Mittelalter-Rock. In den vergangenen Jahren standen sie auf den großen Bühnen des Landes – von Wacken Open Air über das M’era Luna bis zum Summer Breeze. Ihre Musik verbindet traditionelle Instrumente wie Dudelsack, Drehleier und Trommeln mit modernen Rock-Elementen und gesellschaftlich geprägten Texten. Die Band ist bekannt für ihre energiegeladenen Live-Auftritte, bei denen historische Klangfarben und zeitgenössischer Sound zu einer eigenen Ästhetik verschmelzen. Ihre Lieder greifen wiederkehrend Fragen nach Freiheit, Zusammenhalt und Veränderung auf.

Es war das bisher dritte Mal, dass ich auf einem Saltatio-Mortis-Konzert war. Wie immer eine geniale Show.
Negativ war, dass bei der „Burgentour” keine Burg in der Nähe war. Aber das ist schon Meckern auf hohem Niveau.

Saltatio Mortis spielen keine Konzerte, sie feiern Abrissparties. Wer da ruhig stehen will ist fehl am Platz. Hier wird abgerockt bis zum umfallen.
