Guitar driven. Punk fueled. Sweat soaked. Rock 'n roll.
That's how MADAME WHISKEY describe themselves, and they've earned it the hard way: energy, sweat, rehearsals, travel, gasoline, beer, good times and better songs. Four guys from San Carlos, Costa Rica, who started out as an acoustic trio in 2015 with one goal — take the music as far as it will go, as loud and fast as possible.
A decade later the count stands at five records: "La Movida Caníbal", "No More Plastic Dealers", "Naked As We Are", "Eye Contact" and "Mountain Eaters" — the last of which won the ACAM Award for Best Alternative Rock / Indie Album in 2023. That same year they signed with Long Beach Records Latam, the Latin arm of the Californian label, and the singles that followed — "Forward Fashion" and "Alex, I Told You So" — picked up press from the UK to Australia.
They've played all seven provinces of Costa Rica, Guatemala, and seven shows across Germany, in any format that fits the room: full band, acoustic, or duo. Whatever opens its doors to them, they'll play it like it's the best show of their lives.
Kulturhaus Insel gets the full-band version.
