From Wacken to the Elbphilharmonie on a big tour through South America and back again: the Wacken sensation is inspiring worldwide and will finally return to Germany in spring 2027!
The six singers from Croatia stand for high-quality polyphonic a cappella singing with uniquely arranged melodies and THE lyrics of one of the greatest metal bands of all time: IRON MAIDEN. Never before have their songs been interpreted in such an innovative and sophisticated way.
The name METAKLAPA says it all: Klapa is a form of Dalmatian a cappella singing that is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The fusion with a true world culture - the heavy metal of IRON MAIDEN - gives this tradition a new, international look.
Metaklapa is a Croatian a cappella metal band that interprets songs by Iron Maiden without any
instruments at all, but with brilliant polyphonic vocals. Actually, "Klapa" describes a musical group
that sings passionate and upbeat, polyphonic Croatian a cappella folk songs. This centuries-old
singing style is an UNESCO World Heritage Site and comes mainly from Dalmatia and southern
Croatia. All six members sing in several Klapas and have been cultivating this style for years. And all
six are sworn metalheads and worship Iron Maiden. Each has their own personal history with this
band and their songs. Now, for the first time, they combine their singing tradition with their passion
for heavy metal and hard rock and they believe: Heavy Metal and Klapa, that fits! The music of Iron
Maiden is strongly based on vocal melodies, and these are the main part of Klapa singing, it is less
about rhythm. Metaklapa manages to keep both the traditional characteristics of Klapa singing and
the metal character of the songs.
The sound of Metaklapa is reminiscent of the powerful choral songs of Gregorian and the sensitive
performances of Dark Tenor. In the spring of 2021 Metaklapa signed their record deal with the
German label NoCut Entertainment.
Their debut album "The Choir of Beasts" was produced by none other than Marko M. Sekul, who has
already enjoyed considerable success in Croatia and on the international stage with his folk-metal
band Manntra. With "The Choir of Beasts" Metaklapa already convinced the press and fans and
played at renowned festivals like the Wacken Open Air.
