Ausfahrt Essen-Huttrop (Ausfahrt 24) abfahren. Weiter in Richtung Zentrum parallel zur Autobahn auf der Von-der-Tann-Straße bis zur nächsten großen Kreuzung. Dort rechts auf die Steeler Straße abbiegen. Nach Bahnunterführung weiter geradeaus (Varnhorststraße). Am Kreisverkehr geradeaus zur I. Dellbrügge. Nach ca. 200 Metern links Zufahrt zum Aral-Parkhaus Akazienallee.

Ausfahrt Essen Zentrum (Ausfahrt 23 - direkt hinter Tunnel) abfahren. Rechts in die Helbingstraße abbiegen (andere Möglichkeit gibt es nicht) und weiter geradeaus. Nach Autobahn- und Eisenbahnunterführung (Bernestraße) an der 1. Ampel links am Kreisverkehr zur I. Dellbrügge abbiegen. Nach ca. 200 Metern links Zufahrt zum Aral-Parkhaus Akazienallee.

Die Lichtburg, die seit ihrer Renovierung 2003 auch Menschen mit Gehbehinderung ein uneingeschränktes und hindernisfreies Kinovergnügen bereitet, wurde nun mit dem "Signet der Barrierefreiheit" ausgezeichnet.
Für die speziellen Bedürfnisse von gehbehinderten Menschen ist die Lichtburg mit der entsprechenden Einrichtung ausgestattet: So befinden sich beispielsweise vier Plätze für Rollstuhlfahrer auf dem Balkon des großen Saals, der Saal selbst ist mit dem Aufzug zu erreichen. Auch der zweite Saal, das "Sabu", verfügt über einen Rollstuhlplatz.
In der Kategorie "Gehbehinderung" wurde dem Filmtheater am 17. November 2008 das Zeichen von der Arbeitsgemeinschaft Selbsthilfe Behinderter in Essen e.V., eine Mitgliedsorganisation des Paritätischen NRW, verliehen. Mit dem "Signet Barrierefrei" werden in Essen Gebäude, öffentliche Verkehrsflächen und Einrichtungen ausgezeichnet, die für Menschen mit Behinderung barrierefrei zugänglich und nutzbar sind.
