»An Evening with the Leatherman« expands the exhibition at Kölnischer Kunstverein. Drawing on the book "Der Ledermann spricht mit Hubert Fichte" (1977) by Hubert Fichte and Hans Eppendorfer, artist Lili Reynaud-Dewar, author Diedrich Diederichsen, filmmaker Oona von Maydell, and curators Pierre-Alexandre Mateos and Charles Teyssou explore social power structures and subcultural counter-narratives in the context of postwar German society and beyond — with a particular focus on the role of BDSM and leather culture. The panel will address the intellectual genesis of the book and its 1979 theatrical adaptation »The Leatherman«.
